Yoga found me just as I was saying goodbye to a professional dress code (that’s a nice way to say “getting laid off in the middle of a recession) and heading out as a freelancer (that’s a nice way to say “doing anything I can to get by!). Yoga taught me to trust my path, to work hard without concern of the fruits of my labor, and to simply be happy with what life provided me.
As a collegiate varsity soccer player, I was always drawn to physical activity. But despite spending the better part of 20 years in a gym or on a soccer field, It wasn’t until I found yoga that I learned to channel my physical energy into a practice that would truly enhance my body, my relationships, my lifestyle and my spirituality. Yoga has engulfed my entire life, it has become my sanctuary, my best friend, my creative outlet and, now, my job.
I honor the history of yoga daily in my reading, meditations and teaching. It is this rich, 5,000+ year understanding of the body, its energy and its relationship to the soul that makes yoga a lasting, permanent force to bring you peace and love. Isn’t that what we all want?
As a teacher, I hope to help yoga find others whenever they need it. Whether you’re a marathoner or couch potato, advanced practitioner or beginner, devoutly spiritual or just looking for a way through the workweek, I know yoga will enhance your life. I’ll leave it to something greater to decide how.
